James (Jim) passed away peacefully January 28, 2026 at the age of 94 surrounded by family. Jim was born on Christmas Eve 1931 in Burnaby, BC to Edith and George Connor
Predeceased by his parents, brothers George and John, sister Edith and his wife of 36 years Annabelle (MacPhee)
He is survived by his sons Michael and Brian (Kèo) and his common law wife Louisa Serné and her sons Ron and Bernie (Kerstine). Also survived by his grandchildren Savanh, Sylas and Kevin and his nieces and nephews.
James served as an educator in Surrey, North Vancouver, with DND in Europe and ending his career in Pitt Meadows.
He served his community as a volunteer; a director of the Maple Ridge Community Foundation, a member of the Maple Ridge Historical Society and as a commissioner with the Maple Ridge Heritage Commission.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday June 13, 2026 at Garden Hill Funeral Services (11765 224 S. Maple Ridge). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Maple Ridge Community Foundation or Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
