Peace Arch Hospital’s maternity ward is set for another diversion Jan. 8-12.
Expecting parents won’t be able to use the White Rock hospital from 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8 through Monday, Jan. 12 at 8 a.m., according to a Fraser Health website.
This marks the fourth such diversion in the past two months, with two diversions at Peace Arch Hospital happening over the Christmas/New Year’s break.
Fraser Health has created a website for expecting parents to check for updates as they collaborate with physicians in the Lower Mainland to address staffing gaps.
“The timing of potential future maternity diversions is dynamic as we collaborate with our physician group to proactively address staffing gaps. Occasionally, we must also respond on short notice to cover unexpected absences due to sick calls,” the website noted.
