The PWHL Vancouver is scheduled to make a “monumental” announcement Thursday morning (Nov. 6) in downtown Vancouver.
The announcement will feature PWHL Vancouver general manager Cara Gardner and head coach Brian Idalski alongside 11 players.
The PWHL confirmed Wednesday (Nov. 5) that it is the announcement of the “brand identities” for the two new teams- Vancouver and Seattle. The team name and logo will not be incorporated “into on-ice uniforms” until the 2026-2027 season. PWHL Seattle is holding a similar press conference on Nov. 6.
The PWHL Vancouver unveiled its inaugural season jerseys on Oct. 21. The jerseys will feature “Vancouver” diagonally across the front and the team colours of Pacific blue and cream with an “earthy bronze accent.”
The design pays “homage to the designs worn by the PWHL’s inaugural six teams in the league’s first season,” noted a Oct. 21 PWHL release.
The PWHL Vancouver is set to drop the puck Nov. 21 against PWHL Seattle for its inaugural season, playing out of the Pacific Coliseum and utilizing the PNE Agrodome as its practice facility.
The PWHL will enter its third season this fall with its original six teams: Toronto Sceptres, Montreal Victoire, Ottawa Charge, Minnesota Frost, Boston Fleet, and New York Sirens, along with the two new teams, PWHL Vancouver and PWHL Seattle.
