In Loving Memory ~
November 2, 1952 – April 21, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Laurie Ann Sayenchuk on the morning of April 21, 2026. Laurie was born on November 2, 1952 in New Westminster, British Columbia.
Laurie leaves behind her Loving Husband best friend Gary Sayenchuk; her sons, Richard and David Ten Brink; Richards Partner Cassie Rose; Stepsons Jason and Corry Sayenchuk; Stepdaughter Chelsey Sayenchuk; her Granddaughters’ Adelia and Justina; her sister Sandi and brother Al. She was a deeply loved member of the Jones family, whose bond and love meant so much throughout her life.
Laurie lived life fully, loudly, honestly and with a little bit of mischief. She loved fishing, golfing, gardening, reading, traveling, camping, and spending time with friends. Family gatherings meant everything to her and her absence will be especially felt on Mother ‘s Day and during holidays she loved decorating for so much.
She adored children and spent time as a Reading Pal at Bridge Lake Elementary, where her kindness and patience touched many lives. Laurie also loved her dog, Kona, who was never far from her side. Laurie was proud to have worked as a Custodial Engineer in Maple Ridge, BC, where she also served as a Union Representative-a role perfectly suited to her direct nature and strong sense of fairness. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary and the Ratepayer Association in Deka Lake and Lower Cariboo Community. Her home at Higgins Lake brought her great pride and joy, especially the beautiful gardens she lovingly tended. Laurie had a special place in her heart for her beloved Auntie Helen, who became a mother figure and lifelong source of love and guidance. Laurie could always be counted on to speak her mind, make people laugh, and “mix it up” when the moment called for it. She was fun, silly, outgoing, fiercely loving, and deeply loyal to the people she cared about.
Above all, she was a wonderful partner, and devoted mother, Grandmother, Sister, and a Friend who leaves behind countless memories and stories that will continue to be shared for years for years to come.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
