Abbotsford Canucks’ two-way players top Pacific Division in NHL games played for 2025-26

For the second straight season, Canucks players topped the AHL’s Pacific Division in total number of NHL games by players who played at both the AHL and the NHL levels.

The 2025-26 NHL season saw the Vancouver Canucks record 327 games from two-way players. It’s a jump of almost 30 per cent from 2024-25 when the team got 252 NHL games from players who also played one or more game in Abbotsford.

Defenders Tom Willander and Elias Pettersson played 70 games apiece in the NHL, while forward Max Sasson suited up 66 times. The trio combined for a total of 10 games in the AHL in 2025-26.

Other Canucks players who played in Abbotsford and Vancouver this season included: Arshdeep Bains, Mackenzie MacEachern, Jonathan Lekkerimaki, Victor Mancini, Kirill Kudryavtsev, Ty Mueller, Lukas Reichel, Jiri Patera, Joseph LaBate, Nils Aman and Nikita Tolopilo.

The Bakersfield Condors were second, as the Edmonton Oilers had 298 games from players who also competed in the AHL. The Calgary Wranglers placed third, with 225 games played for the Calgary Flames this season. The Tucson Roadrunners, the affiliate of the Utah Mammoth, had the fewest with 65 games.

Players with Abbotsford ties also managed to produce in Vancouver last season, with a total of 69 points. That amount was tied for second with San Jose and trailed only the Condors at 79. Bakersfield also got the most goalie wins at the NHL level with 21.

Willander and Sasson scored 21 and 19 points respectively to lead the Abbotsford grads this season. Vancouver got 57 points from two-way players in 2024-25. Condors forward Matthew Savoie led all Pacific Division call-ups this season with 37 points in 82 games for Edmonton.

Abbotsford was tied with Calgary for the most two-way players this season at 14, Tucson was the fewest at five. The Canucks had 15 players used at both the AHL and NHL level in 2024-25. co

Vancouver finished 32nd overall in the NHL this season posted a record of 25-49-8. Abbotsford placed 29th in the AHL with a record of 28-37-3-4. This year marked the first season since 2018-19 that Vancouver and its AHL affiliate missed the playoffs.

Calgary – Dryden Hunt, Rory Kerins, William Stromgren, Sam Morton, Daniil Miromanov, Matvei Gridin, Aydar Suniev, Brennan Othmann, Justin Kirkland, Hunter Brzustewicz, Zayne Parekh, Martin Pospisil, Arsenii Sergeev and Yan Kuznetsov.

Coachella Valley – Jani Nyman, John Hayden, Jacob Melanson, Ben Meyers, Nikke Kokko, Victor Ostman and Oscar Fisker Molgaard.

Colorado: Alex Barre-Boulet, Jack Ahcan, T.J. Tynan, Tristen Nielsen, Ivan Ivan, Taylor Makar, Jason Polin, Keaton Middleton, Zakhar Bardakov and Trent Miner.

Henderson: Tanner Laczynski, Raphael Lavoie, Kai Uchacz, Dylan Coghlan, Jonas Rondbjerg, Braeden Bowman, Jaycob Megna, Alexander Holtz, Carter Hart and Carl Lindbom.
