The Ridge Meadows Burrards Minor Lacrosse Association is offering a beginners lacrosse program for children born between 2022 and 2023 called Shooting Stars 2026.
The object of the Shooting Stars program is to get sticks into kids’ hands and start working at their skills through fun games. The program is dependent on parent volunteers to help run practices, which will take place twice a week.
The program will run for four weeks, with eight practices on Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. starting April 11 through May 2.
All practices will be held at the Maple Ridge Secondary School outdoor box. This program costs just $30, and is billed as “a wonderful introduction to lacrosse.”
The Ridge Meadows association is one of the largest in the province, and regularly has players graduate to play on provincial teams, get athletic scholarships, and move on to play at the highest levels of the sport.
