Easter fun taking place in Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows

The Easter Bunny will be hopping around Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadow at plenty of events this weekend.

There is still time to register for Easter FUNday in Pitt Meadows, taking place rain or shine, on Sunday, April 5.

Lots of family-fun activities will be taking place at Harris Road Park at 12474 Lougheed Highway.

There will be a self-guided egg hunt. Participants are asked to bring their own basket as none will be provided at the event.

Eight large bunny posters will be hidden throughout the park with a basket of eggs at each. Participants are allowed one egg only at each poster.

Once at least six bunny characters have been discovered, participants can exchange the eggs at the egg-change station for a goodie bag.

One goodie bag per child will be handed out.

Wristbands will be handed out to all who register and must be returned when they receive their goodie bag.

To limit crowding and make sure the Easter Bunny has enough supplies for everyone – families are asked to register for one of three time slots:

• 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m.;

• 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.;

• or 12:30 p.m. – 2 p.m.

Pre-registration will ensure families have plenty of time to enjoy the egg hunt, crafts, and face painting before the next group arrives.

Registration is open at the Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre until Saturday, April 4, where each child will receive a wristband.

Some tickets may be available on site on event day, but quantities will be limited.

Food and refreshments will not be available on site and parking is limited at Harris Road Park.

The Whonnock Community Association is holding an Easter Egg Hunt.

On Sunday, April 5, the hunt will start at 11 a.m. sharp, rain or shine.

There will be three areas for the hunt, depending on the child’s age.

In each area there will be three golden coins to find.

Each golden coin can be traded in for a gift basket.

Participants are asked to bring their own baskets and to meet outside the Whonnock Lake Center, at 27871 113 Ave, Maple Ridge.

The Meadows Family Farm is holding their fifth annual Easter celebration that will include: an all day egg hunt, face painting, spring baby animals, tractor train rides through the farm, outdoor play areas and farm fun, a bunny burrow maze, and Easter Bunny visits.

There is also a zip-line, jumping pillow, bouncy castles, a playground, and a peddle track.

Tickets are $16 for those not participating in the egg hunt, $18 for children who are participating in the egg hunt, and $10 for seniors 65 years and older.

There is a $6 add-on for children 2 and under for a special goodie bag.
