Man charged in B.C. bestiality case back in court next week

A man charged with bestiality related to an incident at a Vernon equestrian training facility earlier this year has made his initial appearance in court, and will return to court next week.

Seth Justin Christian faces one count of bestiality in connection to the alleged assault of horses at Abigail Equestrian in the BX area on Jan. 24.

The professional training facility released surveillance images of a break-in suspect who was alleged to have assaulted several horses.

A man was arrested in relation to the incident on Jan. 26 and then released from custody pending further investigation, according to the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP.

Christian, born in 1991, was charged on Wednesday, March 25, and made his initial appearance in Vernon court Thursday morning.

He will return to Vernon court on March 30 at 9:30 a.m. to schedule an appearance before the judicial case manager, the BC Prosecution Service confirmed.

Christian will then appear again in court on April 30 for the purpose of consulting legal counsel.
