July 31, 1940 – March 8, 2026
Harvey was a man of honest efforts, reliable results, and valued those with the same integrity. He was a problem solver and a man of purpose, a born leader who valued his community, friends, and family. He was a hard worker and took pride in always doing his best.
He was born in a barn in Innisfree AB, and grew up in Red Deer. As an indigenous person growing up in rural Alberta, his life began with many challenges, including losing his parents Louis and Agnes St. Germaine by the age of 20.
Harvey fell in love with the Lower Mainland when he came to the coast with his father on a work trip when he was 10. Eventually he made his way to Vancouver, and has lived in Maple Ridge since 1981. He loved camping, boating, fishing (although he rarely caught anything), and playing golf. He also had a love for vintage cars.
His family meant a lot to him. He is survived by his wife Linda, children Vince, Michelle, Shayne, Renee, and Lorin, siblings Russel and Shirley, as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was deeply affected by the loss of his children Sandra and Ryan.
After falling ill, his final week was spent in the hospital. We are thankful for all the staff of Ridge Meadows Hospital for their care and wonderful assistance in making his final days comfortable.
He will be missed by family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 12145 Laity Street, Maple Ridge on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 1pm.
