Come on down for ‘The Price is Right LIVE’ in 2 B.C. cities this spring

An interactive, non-televised, live version of an iconic game show is coming to venues in Vancouver and Kamloops in April.

A Canadian tour for “The Price is Right LIVE” starts April 1 at Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver, stops at Sandman Centre in Kamloops the next night, then continues east for three weeks, ending in Ontario.

“The games, energy and prizes are similar to what you see on TV,” says a post on the tour website.

Many guests come dressed in fun, colourful outfits or themed costumes — “just make sure they’re comfortable enough for cheering and possibly coming on stage,” the website cautions.

It’s an all-ages show, but only those of majority age can be a contestant. A random selection to determine the lucky few takes place just prior to the start of the 100-minute show, 8 p.m. start at the two B.C. theatres.

Doors open one or two hours before showtime, giving ticket-holders time to register using a QR code posted on signs in the lobby (if needed), get a cool “Pricetag” and enjoy the pre-show atmosphere.

Show host Todd Newton has been called “a silver-tongued storyteller and traveling bon vivant.”

Tickets range from $49 to $123 on ticketmaster.ca (Vancouver show), or click here for the Kamloops date.

“The Price is Right LIVE” tour of Canada is presented by The Brick furniture store, where in-store contests and promos continue until March 25 with more than $300,000 in prizes including a $10,000 shopping spree.
