Registration is now open of Hike for Hospice, one of the biggest fundraisers for the Ridge Meadows Hospice Society.
The day will include a picnic in the park and a special 1.3 kilometre memorial walk in honour of loved ones who have passed away.
Opening remarks and a welcome will take place at 10:15 a.m.
The warm up takes place at 10:20 a.m., and then the walk along with a ceremonial riverside petal release from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
There will also be music and memory rock decorating.
Everyone is welcome to the family friendly event that supports palliative care and grief programs in the community.
Parking attendants will be on site directing traffic.
The event will happen rain or shine.
There is no cost to attend but registration is required.
Hike for Hospice will take place Sunday, May 24, from 10-1 p.m. at Allco Park, 13255 Alouette Rd., Maple Ridge.
