City of Maple Ridge offers $150 gift card draw for budget feedback

The City of Maple Ridge is asking for public feedback on the latest city budget, and is offering the chance to win a $150 gift card.

City hall is inviting residents and businesses to share feedback on the draft 2026–2030 Financial Plan.

The budget for 2026 will see the average home in Maple Ridge get a combined property tax and utilities increase of $181 per year.

The draft budget attempts to maintain current service levels while making targeted investments to support safety, infrastructure, and community resilience, said city hall in asking for feedback.

The draft plan proposes a 3.5 per cent property tax increase. For the average assessment value of a Maple Ridge home ($1.04 million), that represents about $101 per year. With water and sewer utility rate changes included on Maple Ridge property tax notices (4.5 per cent for water and six per cent for sewer), the total combined increase for an average household is estimated at $181, or about 4.1 per cent. The proposed budget is affected by a number of cost pressures outside of the city’s control, such as regional fee increases, inflation, and labour contract increases.

Public engagement on the draft budget runs until March 29, with both online and in-person opportunities to learn more and share feedback. Residents who complete the survey online at engage.mapleridge.ca by March 29 can enter to win a $150 Downtown Maple Ridge gift card, valid at more than 90 local businesses.
