Go green for St. Patrick’s Day in Maple Ridge

St. Patrick’s Day parties are springing up ahead of the big day on March 17.

On Sunday, March 15, the Maple Ridge Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 88, is holding a celebration filled with fun, games, prizes, and kitchen specials.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the event starts at noon and will also feature a scavenger hunt and trivia.

There will be four game sheets beginning at 12 p.m. There will be Irish trivia one and two, followed by guess who the leprechauns are the scavenger hunt to get to know fellow members, followed by a quiz.

A swag bag will be given out for each game.

Prize draws will start at 1:45 p.m. and music at 2 p.m.

The kitchen will be preparing tasty Irish favourites.

Those who would like to attend must be a Legion member or be signed in by a member.

On March 17, the Ridge Meadows Seniors Society is holding their own party at the Maple Ridge Seniors Activity Centre.

Attendees are encouraged to wear green for an afternoon of festive music and good cheer.

There will be live entertainment, refreshments, and door prizes. And, there will be a mystery silent auction where guests can bid on secret treasures.

Tickets for the event are $7 and can be purchased from Member Services at the centre at 12150 224 Street.

The event starts at 2 p.m. and goes until 3:30 p.m.
