Burnaby Mounties say a threat at a local high school Thursday was “not credible.”
RCMP responded to Burnaby North Secondary School just before 1 p.m. on March 12 for a report of a threat, according to a release Thursday afternoon. Officers arrived at the school “within minutes of being dispatched and quickly worked to assess the safety of students and staff.”
The school, police said, was placed on lockdown temporarily as a precaution and officer cleared the school, determining the threat was “not credible.”
Police said this is the second such incident that officers have responded to at the school since March 9.
Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
“We understand incidents of this nature cause great concern within our community and schools,” the release says.
