A thrilling “flight” over, through and around the city of Chicago is now featured at Flyover Vancouver.
The Canadian debut of Believe Chicago brings a new immersive experience to the popular attraction at Canada Place, alternating on the big screen with Awaken Canada.
Following runs in Chicago and Las Vegas, the groundbreaking Believe Chicago is an action-packed adventure that takes viewers on a ride 13,000 feet in the air, with dips and dives around famous buildings and public art in the big city on Lake Michigan.
The film, Flyover’s first-ever show set entirely in such an urban setting, gives theatre-goers a feeling of flight around skyscrapers, cinematic car chases, fireworks and more.
On theatre seats that move with the camera angle, people watch the action on a 65-foot spherical screen as wind, mist and scents add to the entertaining experience.
The aerial cinematography of Believe Chicago was developed with state-of-the-art drones the size of a lawnmower.
It all feels like CGI or AI, but isn’t.
“Filming a city presents its own unique challenges, and we set out to create a new experience that would push the boundaries of Flyover and the film industry in both technology and style,” boasts Lisa Adams, company CEO and executive producer.
Opening scenes I filmed of the new, thrilling "Believe Chicago" film at @expflyover Vancouver.
Had to put the phone down just when it felt like we dive-bombed from the tower top to street below.

With an uplifting soundtrack by Elliott Wheeler, Believe Chicago is around 10 minutes of “fly” time, plus lead-in visuals and introductions.
The show sure made me want to visit Chicago, home to famous Buckingham Fountain, the reflective, bean-like Cloud Gate art at Millennium Park, and more. I would have loved to “fly” over Soldier or Wrigley stadiums during a game, but that experience isn’t part of Believe Chicago, sadly. Perhaps such an adventure will be part of a future Flyover film set in New York, Tokyo or other big cities of the world.
Afraid of heights? You might want to sit this one out.
Tickets for Believe Chicago start at $20 on experienceflyover.com/vancouver. Spend the time and money on a “duel ride” pass and also see Awaken Canada, featuring scenes of Baffin Island, Mt. Logan, Athabasca Sand Dunes, Hudson Bay and beyond.
Flyover theatres are located in Vancouver, Las Vegas, Chicago and Iceland.
