A collision between a panel van and a car at the intersection of 240 St. and 16 Ave. in Langley sent one person to hospital Monday.

The driver of the car was trapped and firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life and other equipment to free the patient.
First responders from the Langley RCMP, Township of Langley Fire Department and the British Columbia Ambulance Service attended the collision scene at 5:21 p.m.
“One person was transported via air ambulance to a local area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries,” said Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP. “The investigation into this collision is ongoing; however, impairment is not believed to be a factor.”
The intersection was closed to traffic for several hours while investigators processed the scene and reopened at approximately 9:20 p.m.
