Police clock Corvette doing 170 km/h on the Golden Ears Bridge

The Ridge Meadows RCMP impounded a sports car that had been clocked doing 170 km/h on the Golden Ears Bridge by a police helicopter.

The speed limit on the bridge is 80 km/h zone, so the driver was doing 90 km/h over the limit.

The yellow Corvette was then found doing 120 km/h on Dewdney Trunk road, in a 60km/h zone.

The excessive speeding fine for going 60 km/h over the limit is $483 plus three points to the driving record, and a seven-day impoundment for a first offence. A single ticket, including fines, ICBC premiums and impound fees can range up to $2,500

”Thanks to our friends in the sky (Air 1) we were able to impound the vehicle and issue multiple excessive speeding tickets to the driver,” reported police. “Keep your Lightning McQueen on the racetrack folks, so you don’t put yourself or everyone else at serious risk on the road.”

Lightning McQueen is an animated car from Pixar’s Cars movie.
