Abbotsford Canucks celebrating Y2K and Women in Sports nights this weekend

The Abbotsford Canucks are throwing back the clocks on Friday (March 6) and then celebrating women in sports on Saturday (March 7) as they host the Colorado Eagles for a pair of games with playoff implications.

Y2K Night occurs on Friday, with the team celebrating the early-2000s in a number of unique ways.

There are Y2K “price glitches” at Rogers Forum concessions, as a number of items will be priced to the 2000s-era. Special offers include:

• $4 Beer (Molson Canadian, Coors Light, Coors Original)

• $4 House Wine

• $4 Coors Seltzers

• $3 Regular Size Hot Dog and Grimms Smokies

• $3 Pizza Slice

• $3 Fountain Pop or Water

• $3 Popcorn

A retro style basement set-up will also be constructed in section 101 and fans will have the ability to play the NHL 2000 video game on the original Sony Playstation. The NHL 2000 game was released on Sept. 12, 1999 and was the fourth in the EA Sports series to be released on the Playstation console. Chris Pronger of the St. Louis Blues was the cover athlete for that edition of the game.

The team is also giving away a framed 2000s Markus Naslund Vancouver Canucks jersey and a DJ will be spinning hits from the year 2000.

Saturday’s Women in Sports Night feature a pair of panels taking place on the south rise section during each of the intermissions.

The first intermission welcomes Vancouver Goldeneyes players Jenn Gardiner and Madison Samoskevich for a discussion. Gardiner recently earned a silver medal with the Canadian women’s hockey team at the 2026 Winter Olympics and the Surrey product has eight points in 17 games this season for the Goldeneyes. Samoskevich has played 14 games for the Goldeneyes and has recorded six penalty minutes.

The second intermission panel is being billed as more business-oriented, with female staff from both the Goldeneyes and the Abbotsford Canucks in a discussion.

Both games begin at 7 p.m. and are important games for the Canucks as they chase down a playoff spot and the opportunity to defend the 2025 Calder Cup championship.
