Cole Perfetti scored the winning goal in overtime, lifting the visiting Winnipeg Jets to a 3-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks in NHL action Wednesday at Rogers Arena.
Kyle Connor and Gabriel Vilardi also scored for the Jets (23-26-8), with Mark Scheifele adding two assists. Eric Comrie got the win in goal, making 20 saves.
Drew O’Connor and Evander Kane scored for the Canucks (18-33-7), with Nikita Tolopilo taking the loss in net, stopping 24 of 27 shots.
O’Connor opened the scoring for the Canucks on their first shot of the game 1:58 into the first period.
He beat Comrie through the legs with a shot from the left faceoff circle for his 14th goal of the season. Brock Boeser picked up an assist on the play, on his 29th birthday. Boeser has played five games on his birthday in his NHL career, producing five points.
Winnipeg tied things up at the 11:42 mark of the first, when Scheifele made a deft pass from behind the net that left Tolopilo out of position and Connor made no mistake slotting it home.
Connor has 25 points in his last 15 games against Vancouver.
Shots after one period favoured Winnipeg, nine to six.

Just 38 seconds into the second period, Kane restored Vancouver’s one-goal lead. Centre Elias Pettersson won a draw from the left offensive circle back to Kane, who wired a shot past Comrie for his 10th goal of the year.
Winnipeg drew even at 2-2 with 1:15 left in the period, as Vilardi outmuscled defenceman Elias Pettersson for position in the goalmouth, and Scheifele’s pass redirected off the skate of the Jets forward. Vilardi has 22 goals on the season.
The Jets held a 21-11 shots on goal advantage after 40 minutes.
The teams battled through a scoreless third period (Vancouver outshot Winnipeg 11-2), setting up 3-on-3 overtime.
In OT, Boeser was robbed by Comrie on a great chance just over two minutes in. Shortly thereafter, Perfetti netted the winner after an Adam Lowry pass attempt went off the stick of Tolopilo right to Perfetti, who made no mistake firing it home.
Vancouver resumes action Saturday when they visit the Seattle Kraken (7 p.m.).

NOTES: The Canucks honoured legendary play-by-play man Jim Robson, who died on Feb. 9, with a stirring video tribute… Vancouver’s Tyler Myers sat out for “roster management reasons” with the league’s trade deadline looming on March 6… The Jets were 0-for-3 on the power play, while the Canucks failed to score on their only chance with the man advantage.
