Maple Ridge Burrards get 18-game schedule for a new season in the WLA

The Western Lacrosse Association has released its schedule for the coming season, and the Maple Ridge Burrards will host their home opener on May 24, when they meet the Langley Thunder at Cam Neely Arena.

The WLA announced a full regular season schedule with 18 games per team, to be followed by playoffs in August. The B.C. league champion will then represent the WLA in the Mann Cup against the Major Series Lacrosse (MSL) Champions from Ontario. The MSL has claimed the past eight straight Mann Cups, and will host this year.

“Coming out of our Junior Draft Jan. 29, the focus now turns to preparation for the start of the 2026 season,” said WLA commissioner, Paul Dal Monte.

The season is scheduled to open Wednesday, May 20 when the Nanaimo Timbermen visit the Langley Thunder; followed by the Burnaby Lakers taking on the New Westminster Salmonbellies on Thursday, May 21 at historic Queens Park Arena.

On Friday May 22, the Coquitlam Adanacs travel to Victoria to take on the Shamrocks, while the Maple Ridge Burrards will be at Bill Copeland Arena to take on the Burnaby Lakers.
