Henry Anton Wagner

With heavy hearts, the family of Henry Wagner, announces his passing on February 4, 2026, in Maple Ridge, BC Henry was born in Kendal, Saskatchewan on February 18, 1936.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Claire (Gosselin); his parents, Herman and Barbara (Kram); and his brothers and sisters, Eleanora, Adolf, Gandolph, William, Eleanor, Matilda, Magdaline and Tony.

Henry is survived by his children: Cheryl (Rob), Darrell, Russell and Leanne (Troy); his grandchildren: Michelle, Kaitlin, Joseph, Derek and his sister, Alma (Reid).

He met his beautiful bride, Claire Gosselin, at Grey Nun’s Hospital in Regina and they were married in 1957. Together they raised four children, grounded in faith, hard work, love, laughter and perseverance.

Henry was a very hard-working, dedicated man who began working at a young age on the family farm in Saskatchewan. He later built a long career in the sheet metal trade. He eventually co-founded Alouette Heating & Sheet Metal, in Maple Ridge, a successful business that supported his family.

Henry’s four children, Cheryl, Darrell, Russell and Leanne learned humour, patience, devotion, what it meant to work hard, a never-give-up attitude, and how to tie their shoes from their dad.

He was always cracking jokes with friends, family, restaurant servers, his doctors and anyone who crossed his path. Henry enjoyed singing and jamming with family and friends, playing his accordion alongside guitars, banjos, violins and pianos in each other’s living rooms. He was known for his made-up song “Whatcha,” which never failed to bring laughter.

In his spare time, Henry enjoyed gardening, camping, travelling, and sharing a good dinner at a restaurant or one of Claire’s gourmet home-cooked meals. Later in life, one of his greatest joys was spending time with his four grandchildren.
