New pick-up locations for the seniors shuttle in Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows

A Seniors Community Shuttle will be adding more pick-up locations to their service.

The shuttle, which is free for those 55 years and older, will be picking up seniors from east and central Maple Ridge to go to Meadowtown Shopping Centre on Wednesdays.

And, on Fridays, pick-ups will be in west Maple Ridge and in Pitt Meadows to go to Freemont Village.

Currently the pick-up times are on Mondays at:

• 9:10 a.m. at Pitt Meadows centre;

• 9:20 a.m. at Meadow Highlands Co-op;

• 9:40 a.m. at Maple Towers;

• 9:50 a.m. at Haney Pioneer Village;

• 10 a.m. at Maple Ridge centre;

• arriving at the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre, on Haney Place downtown, at 10: 05 a.m.

Within walking distance of the leisure centre, seniors can access Haney Place Mall, Service BC/Service Canada, thrift stores, coffee shops, Maple Ridge Public Library, restaurants, medical services, pharmacies, and Memorial Peace Park.

The community shuttle is paid for by the United Way Aging In Motion grant stream and run by the Ridge Meadows Seniors Society.

The bus will leave again at the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre at 12:30 p.m. and drop off at the same locations.
