The Ridge Meadows Flames have won nine of their last 10 games in the Pacific Junior Hockey League.
That wins tally includes Friday night’s 6-3 victory over the Delta Ice Hawks, and a 7-1 blowout of the Chilliwack Jets on Sunday, Feb. 1 in Sardis.
New Flame Matthew Biros scored four goals in the first period on Sunday, and later added an assist for a season-high five points. He now has eight goals and 20 points in 10 games since being traded to the Flames.
Erik Sollied, Samuel Allen and Jonah Power Smith also scored.
Sollied added four assists to give him a five point game, and he is in third place among defencemen scoring in the PJHL, with 13 goals and 39 points in 29 games.
All seven Flames goals came on the power play in the penalty-filled contest, that saw the Jets draw 251 minutes in penalties, and the Flames draw 138. There were lots of roughing and misconduct calls, and Flames Sam Allen and Morgan Clark were both given the gate for fighting, with four minutes left in the game.
On Friday night, the Flames hosted the Delta Ice Hawks, and won 6-3.
Captain Zack Lagrange got his 19th and 20th goals of the season. He now has 278 points in his career, which ranks third all time in the league.
Power Smith, Josh Bettesworth, Jacob Douglas and Marco Oliviero also scored, while Sollied had three assists.
The Flames have 29 wins and 13 losses on the season, and sit second out of eight teams in the Tom Shaw Conference.
On Wednesday night the will take on the Steelers in Burnaby, and then host Delta on Friday night at Cam Neely Arena. Game time at home is 7:30 p.m.
