Swinging with Garibaldi secondary, Golden Ears jazz bands

An evening of dessert and dance is coming up in Maple Ridge, hosted by Garibaldi Secondary and Golden Ears jazz bands, which will be performing live big band-style swing and ballroom dance music.

The dessert and dance will happen on Feb. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Albion Community Centre (24165 104 Ave.).

There will be a dance instructor offering a lesson in swing dancing, as well as a selfie photo booth, silent auction, a variety of desserts to choose from, and a dance floor.

This is planned to be a fun and classy event, with proceeds going to assist students in the music program at the school.

“Strap on your dancing shoes, get your sweet tooth ready and come out for an enjoyable evening,” said Garibaldi secondary music teacher Rebekah Bell.

Get tickets early as the event is likely to sell out, say organizers. Tickets are available online at eventbrite.ca
