Police responded to a report from an owner at about 8 a.m. that his business had been shot at sometime overnight.
“SPOSU officers have confirmed that the business was damaged by gun fire,” Staff Sergeant Lindsey Houghton, Surrey Police Service media relations officer, wrote in a press release. “The business was not open at the time and there have been no reported injuries.”
Houghton said SPOSU’s General Investigation Unit will now take on the investigation of the incident.
“At this early stage it is believed to be extortion-related,” Houghton added.
