Free workshop will help seniors sleep

Seniors who have trouble sleeping can take a free workshop that might help.

The event is coming on Jan. 22 at the Maple Ridge Seniors Activity Centre (12150 224 St.), hosted by the Ridge Meadows Seniors Society.

Titled “Sleep Smart: How Rest Shapes the Aging Brain,” this workshop will help older adults understand the connection between the quality of their sleep and brain health.

They will learn how sleep patterns and brain function change with age, and the role of deep sleep in a better memory and mood.

Those attending can explore simple and proven sleep hygiene and relaxation techniques, and learn how to create a bedtime route to support restorative sleep.

Sleep Smart is happening from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Call 604-467-4993 to register.
