Nighttime lane closures are planned for the George Massey Tunnel beginning this Sunday, Jan. 11.
The single-lane closures will start at 10 p.m. and last until 7 a.m. while crew carry out required maintenance work as part of ongoing preparations for construction of the new tunnel.
Nightly lane closures will be in effect as many as seven days a week through March, in the following schedule:
• Monday to Friday: 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. northbound, and 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. southbound
• Saturday and Sunday: 10 p.m. until 7 a.m. both directions]
Travel in both directions will be maintained at all times, and there will be signs posted and traffic-control crews on site.
Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits and pay attention to all signage and the direction of traffic-control personnel.
