Fraser Minten scored twice, including the overtime winner, leading the visiting Boston Bruins to a 3-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks in NHL action Saturday at Rogers Arena.
Elias Lindholm also scored for the Bruins (22-18-2), with Jeremy Swayman making 31 saves for the netminding win.
Filip Hronek had a goal and an assist for Vancouver, with forward Elias Pettersson adding a single goal. Kevin Lankinen took the loss in goal, stopping 18 of 21 shots.
The Bruins opened the scoring on the power play 16:23 into the first period, when Vancouver-born Minten beat Lankinen with a shot from the slot for his seventh goal of the season.
Shots on goal after 20 minutes favoured the Bruins 6-5.
In the second period, Vancouver pulled even at 1-1 48 seconds in, when Filip Hronek’s shot banked in off Pettersson’s skate. Petterson now has 10 goals on the year.
Boston took a 2-1 lead at 7:25, when David Pastrnak’s cross-crease pass was tapped in by Lindholm for another power-play tally.

Vancouver tied it again at 2-2 on their own power play, when Hronek shot the puck from the right circle and it went in off Boston defender Charlie McAvoy. It was Hronek’s third goal of the year.
Through 40 minutes, Vancouver held a 21-13 shots advantage.
The Canucks carried the play for large stretches in the third period and finished regulation time outshooting the Bruins 32-19 but neither team was able to score. Minten had a great chance all alone in front of Lankinen late in the period, but was denied by the Vancouver netminder.
In the 3-on-3 overtime, there were no stoppages until Minten scored the winner with 19 seconds left, knocking a rebound past Lankinen.
The Canucks now embark on a six-game road trip, beginning Tuesday (4 p.m.) in Buffalo. They don’t play another home game until Jan. 17, when the Edmonton Oilers pay a visit to Vancouver.
NOTES: Vancouver’s Conor Garland (upper body) and Marco Rossi (lower body) both sat out with injuries… Vancouver has now reached the mid-point of its 2025-26 season.
