Local authors will be reading from their books at a Maple Ridge coffee and tea shop.
Jack Emberly, Stephen Garrett, Ashley McLean, Kimiye Kawashima Triggs, will be featured at the next Local Author event at Bean Around Books and Tea.
The event will be taking place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, at 22626 Lougheed Hwy., Maple Ridge.
Musicians are also welcome to take part in an open mic in the New Year.
Local Pam Burns will be hosting the open mic at Bean Around Books And Tea from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24.
This will be an ongoing open mic for musicians to play their own original work or covers for the audience to enjoy.
There will be no karaoke or stand-up comedy.
The open mic will take place every third Saturday of the month.
