New Year’s Day Run to take place in Pitt Meadows

If health is on your mind for a New Year’s resolution, a run will be taking place in Pitt Meadows to start the year off right.

Eric and Lorie Muller, owners of Sole Experience Running Company, will be holding their annual run on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026.

Those wanting to participate are asked to get to the starting area at the south end of Barnston View Road in Osprey Village by Waterfront Commons Park, at 9:30 a.m. for the 10 a.m. run.

The run will take place along the Trans Canada Trail, following the Fraser River west towards Pitt Meadows Regional Airport.

“It’s pretty low key,” said Eric Muller, noting that the event is more social and for people to enjoy the morning of the New Year.

“It’s more of a focus of doing something healthy to start your year,” he added.

People are welcome to bring their dogs or strollers for the event. Dogs should be on a leash.

There will be a two kilometre, a five kilometre, and a 10 kilometre route and participants are welcome to run or walk.

Those who turn out are welcome to register for the event, but you don’t have to, and there are no registration fees.

They are accepting donations to the Childhood Cancer Family Support Society, a non-profit charity run by volunteers to help families identified by BC Children’s Hospital who are struggling with the financial burden of taking care of their children who have cancer or a blood disorder with financial help.

Cash donations will be accepted at the run. But if you want a tax receipt, donations must be made online.
