Some well-known names from the ’90s rap scene are heading to Abbotsford in early 2026 as part of the upcoming West’s Best show.
This recently announced concert involves six acts, all of whom had a significant influence on the hip-hop music produced around the turn of the century, especially in the West Coast region.
One of the artists is E-40, who is best known for his 2006 hit song Tell Me When to Go, as well as his work with the group The Click.
A man who had his hand in many major hits over the years is DJ Quik, who helped to popularize the G-funk style of rap. DJ Quik has worked with Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Chingy, and many others, with his work getting him nominated for an American Music Award for Favourite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist in 1992.
Another pioneer of the G-funk music scene, Warren G, is also bringing his West Coast sound to Abbotsford. His 1994 smash hit Regulate and the follow-up single This D.J. gained Warren G mainstream success and even earned him a couple of Grammy nominations.
Despite being well-known for his role as the host of the reality show Pimp My Ride, Xzibit is first and foremost a musician and has produced a number of hits, including Paparazzi and What U See Is What U Get.
Tha Eastsidaz, who were first assembled by Snoop Dogg in 1997, are a trio of rappers who were featured on many chart-toppers, including Lay Low from Snoop Dogg’s 2000 album Tha Last Meal. After enduring a lengthy breakup in the mid-2000s, Tha Eastsidaz reunited for the second time in 2022 and put out a new EP in 2024.
Rounding out the lineup is 2nd II None, who have worked closely with DJ Quik and had their hit single Up ‘N Da Club featured in an episode of The Sopranos.
All of these West Coast rappers will be joining forces for the West’s Best show at Rogers Forum on March 21.
The concert starts at 7 p.m., with tickets and more information available at rogersforum.com.
