Surrey police believe there may be more victims as they investigate a man and woman suspected of child exploitation.

The Surrey RCMP Special Victims Unit started an investigation in October 2024 involving alleged offences that started in 2021 related to child sexual abuse material, a Surrey Police Service release noted.

Two suspects — Carter Cooke, 28, and Tkhu Khyonh “Mika” Nhuien, 21 — were subsequently identified as suspects and were arrested and charged with a number of offences earlier this month.

The investigation remains open. SPS and RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit officers believe there may be more victims, so they are appealing to the public for help in identifying any additional victims.

Court documents show the alleged crimes happened in Surrey, Delta, White Rock, Vancouver and Nelson.

Cooke has been charged with accessing, possessing, and distributing child pornography.

Both he and Nhuien have been charged with sexual interference of a person under 16 years, luring a child under 18 years, and making child pornography.

Anyone with information is asked to contact SPS’s non-emergency line at 604-599-0502, and quote file number 25-156955 (SU).
