December 1, 1946 – November 28, 2025
Carole passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of family, friends, and her dog, Alli.
She leaves behind a loving family: daughter Julie (Andy), son Warren (Kiara), grandchildren Taia, Arabella, and Adney, and sister Janette.
Carole was born in Vancouver, grew up in the West End, and raised her family with her husband Merv (predeceased) in Maple Ridge, which she proudly called home for over 50 years. She loved dogs, especially her beloved German Shepherds Hunter, Mannie, and Molly, and had a dog or five throughout her entire life, including many rescue dogs.
Carole loved to talk; she was a Sagittarius, and had the spirit of a fire sign. With a keen interest in astrology, she would often ask about your birthday and loved being able to guess your sign. Her family and friends relied on her to do their charts to help guide important decisions, and she was so proud when the stars aligned and her predictions were correct.
She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching all kinds of sports. Her passion for tennis began while growing up playing in Stanley Park. Throughout her life, she watched all the tennis tournaments, no matter what time of day. As a child, she could often be found watching the Vancouver Canadians play baseball at Nat Bailey Stadium from the hillside of Queen Elizabeth Park.
She was a longtime advocate for natural remedies and truly believed that laughter was the best medicine.
Carole cherished being at home, and her life was enriched by her many friends and neighbours. She maintained friendships lasting over 50 years.
She enjoyed music and was always impressed with herself when her favourite songs topped the charts. To most people’s surprise, when asked recently what kind of music she liked, she would say Coldplay.
At Carole’s request, there will be no service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Maple Ridge Red Cross.
Carole will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humour and her wholehearted love of dogs!
