A parade of festively decorated vehicles will be winding its way through Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows for the sixth annual Christmas Convoy.
There will be two convoys, one for each community, the first on Saturday, Dec. 20, and the second on Sunday, Dec. 21.
And, until then organizer organizer Laura Faye will be collecting non-perishable food items and donations for the Friends In Need Food Bank, to help support families in need this holiday season.
Born out of the COVID-19 restrictions, the first convoy was initially organized by Faye so people could get into the holiday spirit, while maintaining a safe distance from other people.
Last year, around 60 vehicles took part in the event, each one decorated with their own unique colourful Christmas lights and decorations.
The Christmas Convoy was also chosen as the best charitable event on the 2025 A-List, ranked by residents of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.
On Saturday, Dec. 20, vehicles are asked to gather at 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Planet Ice in Maple Ridge at 23588 Jim Robson Way.
The parade will begin at 6 p.m., winding its way through the communities of Albion, Silver Valley, and downtown Maple Ridge, before ending at Thomas Haney Secondary.
On Sunday, Dec. 21, the parade will begin at Thomas Haney Secondary School at 23000 116 Ave., Maple Ridge.
Again participants are asked to have their vehicles in the parking lot at 5:30 p.m. and be ready to leave at 6 p.m.
This convoy will travel west through the Haney and Hammond neighbourhoods before winding its way north through Pitt Meadows and ending at at the Meadowtown Shopping Centre.
