Stroll, Sip and Shop this Friday night in Maple Ridge

The Downtown Maple Ridge Business Improvement Association is encouraging people to shop locally during the holidays, with the upcoming Stroll, Sip and Shop event.

Stroll, Sip and Shop is happening on Friday night, Dec. 12 from 4-7 p.m., and Celise Verge, the BIA events and marketing manager, said the first event was enjoyed by the strollers.

“Each location is going to have a festive sip, a savoury snack, or a sale,” she said, and added there will be gift wrapping available at the final stop.

She explained the goal is to show shoppers some of the many great boutique businesses in Maple Ridge, and motivate residents to shop here, rather than going to a neighbouring city, or purchasing online.

“It should be a fun night on Friday,” said Verge. “We’re trying to encourage more people to shop local.”

There will be two strolls on Friday, one going from 228th Street to ValleyFair Mall, and the other from the Brickwater to ValleyFair. For more information, or to register, see downtownmapleridge.ca.

Those collecting stamps in the BIA’s Passport to Prizes holiday shopping campaign will get double stamps at the strolls. Full passports must be entered by Dec. 12, and there are six grand prizes, including three prizes of $2,000.

That draw will be held on Dec. 15. For more information about Passport to Prizes see downtownmapleridge.ca
