Police race to Salvation Army in Maple Ridge after call about man with a weapon

Police raced to the Salvation Army’s housing facility in Maple Ridge Wednesday afternoon after they received a call about a man with a weapon.

An unmarked vehicle and three marked vehicles could be seen outside in the parking lot at 222 Street and Lougheed Highway at around 3:15 p.m.

However, Ridge Meadows Mounties said, when they arrived on scene they could not locate a weapon and no statements were given to police.

One man was taken into police custody but was expected to be released later the same day.
