Every available fire truck in eastern Maple Ridge was called out to a garage fire in the rural Webster’s Corners neighbourhood Wednesday morning.
Firefighters were deployed to a residential area in the 11300-block of 261 Street at about 10:30 a.m. to battle the fire. There was significant interface with the forest, but it had been raining heavily in recent days.
Reports came in that smoke and flames were visible.
Nobody was hurt in the blaze, and firefighters said the damage was contained to an area of the outbuilding.
A few fire trucks and fire crews from the neighbouring community of Mission were also called in for what is dubbed “mutual aid,” but then were cancelled.
