The City of Prince Rupert continues to gain momentum as a cruise destination.
The Prince Rupert Cruise Port announced a record-breaking year, which saw the port welcome 68,433 guests during the 2025 cruise season—a 16.6 per cent increase over 2024.
Early projections for next season indicate the port could welcome more than 150,000 guests, due to increased port calls and expanded cruise offerings.
The 2025 season saw a number of firsts for the port, including first-time cruise calls for Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas and Holland America Line’s Noordam, the latter of which marked the first-ever overnight berthing of a cruise ship in Prince Rupert.
Prince Rupert Cruise Port general manager, Steve Finnigan, said the past year was “truly outstanding” for the cruise sector, and the port is set up to showcase Prince Rupert as a destination next year.
“Our community came together to deliver unforgettable experiences,” he said. “The positive response from guests has been inspiring, and as we look ahead to welcoming even more visitors next season, the sense of pride and collaboration across our community has never been stronger.”
Eleven cruise calls are currently scheduled for 2026, including the first for Virgin Voyages.
