Christmas in Pitt Meadows ringing in the season

One of the biggest nights in the city is happening tonight, with Christmas in Pitt Meadows.

Taking place at Spirit Square and in the gymnasium at the Family Recreation Centre (12027 Harris Rd.) from 4-8 p.m., this family event draws thousands of people each year.

There will be live entertainment, an artisan market, children’s activities, road hockey (bring your own stick), holiday train rides, and the lighting of the community Christmas tree.

Inside the gymnasium Norden the Magician, Showstoppers Academy, the Beauty Shop Dolls and the caroling quartet Four calling Birds will entertain the crowd. Outside the Pitt Meadows secondary concert choir will bring their talented vocals.

The city offered an event parking update on Thursday, that noted that from 3-9 p.m. the connecting road in Spirit Square behind City Hall to the Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre, as well as the full main parking lot, will be closed.

Parking during the event will be limited and only available in the underground parking lot, as well as the Pitt Meadows Elementary School parking lot.
