200 St. in Langley to close for 2 days for rail repairs

Emergency repairs to a railway line will close one of Langley’s busiest roads for two days beginning Monday, just south of the intersection of 200 St. and Hwy. 10.

An advisory issued by the Ministry of Transportation and Transit on Saturday said drivers were advised to anticipate delays during a full closure of 200th Street, south of Highway 10 in Langley, starting Monday, Nov. 24, 2025.

“The closure is necessary to allow CPKC [Canadian Pacific and Kansas City] to complete emergency work on the railway as soon as possible and will be in effect from 7 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 24, until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25th,” the statement said.

During the closure, all southbound through lanes on the north side of Highway 10 will be redirected, requiring drivers to turn either eastbound or westbound onto Highway 10.

The westbound left-turn lanes and eastbound right-turn lanes at this intersection will also be closed to all traffic.

Drivers can detour through the area, but should plan additional travel time, the ministry said.

Travellers are reminded to obey signage posted and check for traffic updates at www.DriveBC.ca

The nature of the emergency was not immediately disclosed. Langley Advance times has reached out to the ministry and CKPC for details.

Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Limited is the result of the merger between Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) and Kansas City Southern (KCS) in 2023.

It is the first and only single-line railway connecting Canada, the United States, and Mexico, operating approximately 32,000 kilometres of track.
