100 Mile RCMP search for 2 men reportedly impersonating Mounties on Halloween

Two people are alleged to have impersonated police officers during Halloween, according to a media release by Sgt. Brian Lamb of the 100 Mile House RCMP.

On Oct. 31, the RCMP received a report of persons impersonating police officers on Blackstock Road. The complainant alleged that a dark grey SUV, which might be a Ford, stopped and that two people exited the vehicle and approached the complainant, advising that they were police officers.

The two men had accosted the complainant and would not allow them to leave. The two men then left after a few minutes in the vehicle, travelling towards Horse Lake Road.

Lamb described the first man as Caucasian, around 30-40 years old, around five feet eight to five feet nine inches in height, bulky build, with a greyish beard wearing a black hooded sweater with a black baseball cap. The second man, RCMP describe as Southeast Asian, in his 20s, with a slight beard, who was wearing a black hat and a black hooded sweater.

The incident reportedly took place at about 9:30 a.m., Lamb said.

Lamb added that they have not received any similar reports like this in the area and believe it to be an isolated incident. They are asking anyone with surveillance or dash cam footage in the area at the time to call the RCMP. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
