Multiple vehicles are involved in the crash.
Original story:
A multiple-vehicle crash closed Highway 1 between Chilliwack and Hope on Thursday evening (Oct. 30), around 7:30 p.m.
The crash appeared to be in the westbound lanes according to social media posts and Google traffic mapping.
The crash caused a closure from Peters Road to Herrling Island. Traffic in the eastbound lanes was heavily backed up between the same two exits.
Witnesses on scene were reporting that an air ambulance had landed and several people were being attended to by paramedics.
