Are you a young girl in Grade 8 or 9 in the Lower Mainland with a love for playing hockey who wants to learn from some of Canada’s best hockey players? Then the PWHL mentorship program might be for you.
Applications for the PWHL mentorship program are now open.
The mentorship program runs in eight cities where a PWHL team is located and runs from November through May.
The PWHL Vancouver is selecting 15 girls who live locally and are in grades 8 and 9.
The girls will have a chance to learn from PWHL players, “connect with other girls who love hockey just as much as you do, grow your leadership skills,” reads a PWHL Vancouver Instagram post.
The program includes a monthly group mentoring session with athletes from the team and a monthly education night hosted by the non-profit Strong Girls United. The sessions will cover topics such as confidence and resilience.
Applications are open until Nov. 7, 2025.
The PWHL Vancouver is set to drop the puck Nov. 21 against PWHL Seattle for its inaugural season, playing out of the Pacific Coliseum and utilizing the PNE Agrodome as its practice facility.
The PWHL will enter its third season this fall with its original six teams: Toronto Sceptres, Montreal Victoire, Ottawa Charge, Minnesota Frost, Boston Fleet, and New York Sirens, along with the two new teams, PWHL Vancouver and PWHL Seattle.
