Blowing snow advisory issued for Okanagan Connector

A combination of snow and wind is expected to impact travellers on the Okanagan Connector Tuesday evening, into Wednesday morning.

On Tuesday morning (Oct. 28), Environment Canada issued a blowing snow advisory for the Okanagan Connector, which stretches from Merritt to Peachland and West Kelowna.

“Strong gusty crosswinds and snowfall will result in limited visibility along the Okanagan Connector overnight tonight,” said Environment Canada. “Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations.”

Visibility could be 800 metres or less, added the government weather agency.

Environment Canada puts blowing snow advisories in effect when visibility of 800 metres or less is expected for more than three hours.
