The City of Maple Ridge has announced the winning businesses in its $10,000 Innovation Challenge.
This annual contest honours businesses that show innovation and make a meaningful impact on the community, economy, or the environment.
Torchrite Solutions, who manufacture a cutting torch safety system, won first place in the Business to Business class, taking $3,500, advertising in the Maple Ridge News, and an HR starter package from SuperHR.
Opticrane, which offers advanced technology for cranes, took second in Business to Business, which carries a prize of $1,500 in cash and financial advisory assistance from Oakton Financial.
Alouette Growers, an online farm market enterprise by the CEED Centre Society, won the Business to Consumer category, winning $3,500 cash, advertising in The News, and a strategic marketing plan from Markayting Creative Agency.
Silver Creek Wildlife Control, who “deal with everything from bats to bears,” won second place in the Business to Consumer category, for $1,500, a one-year membership to the Chamber of Commerce and a $100 email blast.
The winners were announced at an event at The Patch Brewery in Maple Ridge on Monday, Oct. 20.
