Pitt Meadows woman needs volunteers to help seniors in need

A Pitt Meadows resident is looking for people to sponsor a needy senior this Christmas.

Rachel Fisher has once again launched the Gifts for Seniors Program, which has been operating in the Lower Mainland for more than 30 years.

The group has provided gifts to thousands of seniors who live in long term care who have no financial means or family support to purchase much needed items.

“Our community members have been incredibly generous in previous years in providing care packages to these seniors who would receive no gifts at Christmas without our help,” said Fisher online.

This year, she said she has more than 100 seniors in need of support and Fisher needs around 40 volunteers who would like to participate in this program.

Anyone interested, can reach out to Fisher on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1456862724327470/user/748544679/ and she will send those interested the details of how the program works.

“If you have friends, family or coworkers outside of Pitt Meadows who might also like to help a needy senior please tell them about the program. We really need extra support this year,” she said.
