Ridge Meadows RCMP have busted a suspected drug trafficking operation near Maple Ridge’s downtown core.
The RCMP’s Street Enforcement Unit (SEU), with the assistance of other partner units and agencies, recently executed a search warrant at a property in the 12300 block of 224 Street.
Police say a number of individuals were arrested and removed from the property, and officers located varying amounts of drugs, as well as firearms, high-end stolen bicycles, and an assortment of stolen mail and packages.
The investigation is ongoing, as officers continue to prepare reports to Crown Counsel for charges, and process the seized material.
“Our Street Enforcement Unit is a key component of Ridge Meadows RCMP’s approach to disrupting criminal activity and ensuring public safety in our community,” said Ridge Meadows RCMP Sgt. Trevor Hanson. “Their mandate is wide scoped and includes property crime, robbery, drugs, and Provincial Tactical Enforcement Priority offenders, often using covert techniques to advance investigations.”
Officers in the unit also work in collaboration with many municipal and provincial policing partners.
If you have information about suspicious behaviour or drug trafficking activity in your community, please report it to the Ridge Meadows RCMP at 604-463-6251.
