North Vancouver RCMP are looking for witnesses after an American tourist fell 30 metres into a creek during a tour through Lynn Canyon Park.
Investigators believe the tourist fell into Lynn Creek on Monday (Oct. 20), while on a guided tour at the park, according to a news release Tuesday. The woman, who is in her 50s, has serious injuries from the fall.
RCMP and other first responders were called to Lynn Canyon Park around 12:30 p.m. to help the injured woman. She was airlifted from where she fell and then transported to hospital by paramedics.
North Vancouver RCMP media relations office Cpl. Mansoor Sahak said police are looking for witnesses who may have seen the the fall or captured it on their phone.
He added the group was being toured around the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge and the fall happened near the north side of the bridge.
“Police are investigating to gain a better understanding of what happened leading up to the incident.”
