Dozens of witches paddle the waters of Pitt Meadows

The fourth annual Witches Haunt the Water took place this Sunday and saw dozens dressed in black hats and brooms paddle along the Alouette River in Pitt Meadows.

Around 45 people participated this year in the popular event, said organizer Brenda Norrie.

The free event was held Sunday, Oct. 19 and was for members of the private Women Who Paddle Facebook group.

Those interested in participating had to register ahead of time due to the massive interest of paddlers.

Participants were out on their paddle boards and kayaks, which were decorated as well.

The event launched at the Silver Bridge parking lot, along Harris Road in Pitt Meadows.

Women Who Paddle is an open, inclusive group for women in Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, and the surrounding areas who want to expand their circle of people to paddle with.
