Don’t forget to spring ahead.
Before going to be on Saturday night, March 7, moves clocks ahead by one hour as B.C. again enters daylight saving time – permanently.
B.C. will adopt permanent, year-round daylight saving time after clocks shift forward an hour on Sunday, March 8 at 2 a.m. The time change that traditionally would happen to “fall back” in November will not take place.
Eliminating twice-yearly time changes reduces disruptions for families, simplifies scheduling and provides an extra hour of evening light during the winter months, said a B.C, government release.
In summer 2019, the province conducted a public engagement on time observance that saw participation from a record 223,000 people, with 93 per cent in favour of adopting year-round daylight saving time.
